Curious Mac Function

One member asks this question:

Does anyone know how to tweak the invisible indexing jobs that my power book goes through. About the same time at least twice a week it seems my Mac seems to be quietly cooking away on some function. I am thinking some indexing or other function I never set up. The problem is that when that goes on it seems to slow the response time for me in my applications. I would like to find that function and tell it to happen when I sleep, not when it thinks I should be asleep.

In Memoriam – Thomas Haycraft

August 16, 1925 – March 8, 2009
Long-time DAPI member and former Board member Tom Haycraft died on Sunday, March 8, 2009.

Thomas Haycraft, This Photo was taken the time we held our meeting at a MacDonalds, the case of the missing key! We will miss him!

Tom attended Mac SIG and Help SIG meetings regularly and was always a good-natured gentleman with many interests including his iPhoto library on his computer with many antique cars he photographed at a local museum. He also downloaded Jazz from the radio and put them in iTunes. He told Elissa he was going to miss the fun of all the new Widgets with Leopard.

Tom enjoyed his investment club and had applications on his Mac that helped him with investment decisions.

The Memorial Service for Tom will be March 16, Monday, at 1:00 pm
Arvada United Methodist Church,
6750 Carr St.
Arvada, CO.

Our condolences, thoughts and prayers are with Tom’s family.

We will miss him.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the Boy Scouts of America – Denver.
